Where it is, and why altitude matters

Ribeirão Corrente and Franca, inland São Paulo, in one of the regions best known worldwide for specialty coffee quality.

The Alta Mogiana lies more than 540 miles (880 km) from the Amazon biome, measured against Brazil's official IBGE limits, in a region of long established farming and strict environmental law.
